Stuck on the Common Experience puzzle. I have the letters in their designated spaces however I am not hearing any words out of the sounds?

Thanks, I got there and am now working on the language bit i got all of the letters in their spots but i'm unsure of the next step.

Interestingly, I just tried it again and it seems as though M removed the ordering step. You used to have to order the theorem cards based on the dates in the book, but now it immediately unlocks the card for 42 as soon as you enter the solutions for all the other theorems. You see that card on the hints and solutions page, right? If so you're good to go with continuing onto the rest of 42.

I always thought the ordering thing was a bit clunky anyway ;)

On July 18, 2021 at 4:42PM EST EMC2 responded to ZombieTaco27:

Once you solve all 41 theorems from the book by entering the solutions online, it should allow you to click and drag to reorder the theorems cards. You'll just need to find the correct order to put them in to proceed with 42

ok, I'm super confused. people are talking about moving things around on the website and I cant do that at all. can someone help me with just the very first step?

Thanks. I was definitely overcomplicating things. Done with #42!

On July 7, 2021 at 9:33AM EST Squadalaah responded to JMerr:

The realization that helped me the most was noticing that the numbers to the right of the slash are each unique and include 1 through 8, which means using them for ordering is probably a safe bet.. Then all that leaves is what do the numbers to the left of the slash indicate?

Other possibly helpful observations, in order of spoilage:

Everything you need to solve the puzzle is on the page.

Each number pair takes the place of a name, so they're definitely linked.

You're right to assume that the mirroring is important.

The song, while thematically relevant, wasn't actually useful to me.

I'm also stuck here. I've tried indexing and grouping but I'm still getting nonsense. What am I missing?

From the song you get the answer, "The answer is it's all a facade" Now just apply some of the skills learned in the training theorems

Okay so I'm really stuck on the facade puzzle. I know the song is from the Jekyll and Hyde musical, and I think the "pillars of society" line has something to do with the answer. But I can't find any real correlation between the names and the numbers, even recognizing that the negative image is a mirror. Any pointers?

The pattern for the last one is tricky since it works differently than the others, but there *is* a pattern. Take a look at the first and last letters of each correct word (ignore the incorrect ones). They always match up in a chain meaning the last letter of one word becomes the first letter of the next word. So almost any words you use would work as long as the first and last letters match up from word to word.

On May 20, 2021 at 11:27AM EST FlipFlopd1 responded to Bodenalan:

Oh boy... This one. I really, really hated "What is all of this?" for a good reason: the third set - the last one - is literally random chance. There's no discernable pattern. But for the first set, they have to start with a vowel, and the second set has to have a double letter somewhere in the word. This is old so I don't know if this helps, but I hope it does!

I thought I made a breakthrough and got through a few puzzles, but now I’m stuck on what is all of this and all I can see is that no matter what I put, the second one is always wrong

So the first step is to make sure that you've put in the solutions to all of the other 41 Theorems on the site. After you've done that, there's something else that you can do within the page.

well holy moses! thank you! i found the pattern and solved it!

Here’s a hint: it’s not about translating binary to letters like in the book. You just have to get the right pattern.

I'm currently on the zeros and ones puzzle. I understand how buttons influence the screen's output and I'm looking at the 8-bit puzzle in the book but I'm at a loss as to the connections, if any.

Based on my little research, I've been submitting answers in the vein of Hamlet , life , and game over . Any hints?

Try match up the numbers on back with names on front. Note that the image is flipped when its turned over.
